South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) requires a Service Provider for Waste Management Services.

The strategic ambition of SYMCA is to keep people and commerce moving effectively to enable economic growth and enhance the regions environment, health and wellbeing. This is reflected in the challenges of achieving Best Value whilst maintaining consistent good quality service delivery.

The Facilities Department plays a key role in the achieving these aims. The department and their associated Service Providers will be measured against Key Performance Indicators.

SYMCA also places great emphasis on customer care and encourages full participation of contract staff in the delivery of a high-quality service.

The Contract will be administered by the SYMCA's Facilities Manager; referred to throughout the documentation as the Contract Officer.

The Contractor is referred to throughout the documentation as the Service Provider and will be the individual or company appointed to undertake the Services. The Contract must be completed in the name of the Service Provider who signed the Tender submission. No other organisation, including any member of the same group of companies is acceptable as the Service Provider.

1 Scope of the Services

1.1 The services comprise the following waste collections types

• General waste – inc food waste, waste that can’t be recycled

• Mixed dry Recycled waste – plastics, metals. Paper, cardboard

• Recycled waste - glass

• Confidential waste – this is to then be recycled as paper waste

• WEEE waste – electrical items
