II.1.4) Short description
Birmingham City Council (The Council) wishes to raise awareness of the causes of air pollution and the steps that can be taken to reduce emissions and exposure. To achieve this aim, the Council is pursuing a range of projects, Pledge 2 aims at improving air quality around schools. The schools air quality monitoring project aims to raise awareness of air quality around Birmingham schools by providing an indicative real-time air quality sensor that is capable of monitoring for Nitrogen Dioxide and Particulate Matter. This particular project is aimed towards children and parents via the installation of up to 346 indicative air quality sensors onto the exterior façades of schools (mix of primary and secondary), with one sensor deployed per school (there are 69 sensors already in place in Birmingham). For each school, a sensor will be deployed along with a static signage board with information and links to online resources.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The schools air quality monitoring project aims to raise awareness of air quality around Birmingham schools by providing an indicative real-time air quality sensor that is capable of monitoring for Nitrogen Dioxide and Particulate Matter. This particular project is aimed towards children and parents via the installation of up to 346 indicative air quality sensors onto the exterior façades of schools (mix of primary and secondary), with one sensor deployed per school (there are 69 sensors already in place in Birmingham). For each school, a sensor will be deployed along with a static signage board with information and links to online resources. This contract for Indicative Air Quality Sensors includes:• Installation of up to 346 sensors and power connection • Liaison with Birmingham schools for a suitable location and suitable time for installation • Total Project management, delivery will be project managed by the Provider and over seen by the Council Programme Manager.• Provision of display boards and visual indicators• Providing access to data via Application Programme Interface (API) and online dashboard • Ongoing maintenance of sensors, display boards and visual indicators• Decommissioning and recycling of sensors and display boards, and undertaking any appropriate electrical workThis will be a Birmingham City Council contract and not for use by other contracting Authorities
