The work required to be undertaken is wide ranging, but all linked to upgrading the Ocean Basin at Plymouth University.
The Ocean Basin was built by Edinburgh Designs after they won the original tender process. The design of the basin and all the associated hardware and software were provided by them as part of that original build.
This work is to replace worn parts and future-proof the facility by upgrade equipment that is now obsolete.
While several of the component parts of this work, including the motor drives and hydraulic pistons and pumps are available from other suppliers, each of these parts needs to be controlled by and integrated into the existing overall control systems.
