From cutting the first sheet of steel to final delivery, the Discovery Channel’s Factory Line programme(scheduled for transmission on Thursday October 13 at 22:30pm)tracks the assembly of six giant Terex 100 tonne dump trucks. 

These mighty machines, designated the TR100, are due to be delivered to Scottish Coal in double quick time – the first off the line at Terex’s Motherwell plant being required by the customer in just 15 days. 

The Discovery Channel film crew recorded all stages of the production process at Terex’s Motherwell plant where some 540 people are involved in the manufacture and test of construction equipment.  Section leaders at the factory describe the processes and sometimes the challenges as the machines make their way down the line.
