Campbell Contracts, based in County Fermanagh, is one of the main subcontractors on the £100m project. It has been using Hill accessories since its first Hill quick hitch back in 1996 – on a Samsung 210 tracked excavator. This proved to be “dependable and easy to use”, says Rory Kelly, Campbell’s health & safety manager, so they have kept going back.

Hill Engineering regional sales manager Donal Cunningham says: “Rory contacted us about two years ago as the company wanted to upgrade all their semi-automatic quick hitches to the latest generation Hill fully automatics. We supplied Campbell’s at the time with our previous quick hitch model, the AL3 quick hitch.  Since then they have specified Hill hitches on all their new machines bought from the Case dealer, Sleator Plant, who also specify, when possible, the Hill Tefra quick hitch”

In total Campbell Contracts has 18 Hill quick hitches in use on their machines, and half of these are the latest Tefra model.  Most are a custom specification.
