This new machine is Hunter Demolitions first Cat E Series excavator. The company run a mixed fleet of machines, which also includes Mathew’s current mount, a Caterpillar 345CL high reach machine. Following extensive paintwork and sign writing in the company’s corporate colours, the machine went straight to work on one of the company’s jobsites in Scotland.  

This 20 ton class machine is described as a great all rounder, with plenty of power and superb manoeuvrability. It is fitted with the new low emission Cat C6.6 ACERT engine which has a power rating of 152hp (112kw) and offers outstanding performance with greatly improved fuel efficiency. In addition the machine’s lift capacity has been improved by up to 5% on the standard machine, and by up to 20% on the heavy lift configuration model. 

According to Mathew, this could be the first of many E Series machines for Hunter Demolition, as the management have been very impressed with the new model. There certainly is a lot of interest in these new E Series machine's, and I get a lot of feedback from readers who are keen to find out more about them. I am hoping to have 320E on test drive very soon, and I will be reporting on my experiences with it here on the Digger Blog
