Job Description

Job Title: Site carpenter

Reporting to: Site Manager

Site Carpenter Position Overview

As a site based carpenter you will report to either a Site Manager or the Carpentry Supervisor on a daily basis with a Contracts Manager overseeing the allocation and placement of resources.

The successful applicant will be skilled in all aspects of carpentry, first fix, second fix and roofing etc.

Duties may include:

All aspects of site carpentry i.e.

• Installing joist and floor boards
• Erecting roof structures
• Installing stair cases
• 1st fix elements
• 2nd fix elements
• Assembling furniture
• Installing fixtures and fittings

Desirable skills and attributes:

Good communication skills

Reading drawings & details

Work alone or as part of a team/gang

Good attention to detail

Qualifications and experience needed:

Successful completion of an apprenticeship and will have between 5 - 10 years post-qualification, learning the trade whilst working on the job.

Full UK driving licence

Salary & Benefits:

£16 to £22 per hour, depending on experience

21 days annual leave + bank holidays
