Construction union Ucatt described the news as ‘another blow for the construction industry’.
Ucatt regional secretary Brian Rye said: “This is a further bitter blow for the construction industry, as another longstanding company has called in the administrators. This is especially grim news for the workers as it has occurred just before Christmas.”
He added: “Ucatt is in the process of contacting our members at the company and we will be providing as much advice and support as possible to ensure that the workers receive everything they are legally entitled to.”
Swift Horsman has been in business since 1971. Recent projects included work on the Athletes Village for the London Olympic Games.
