£25m Milton Keynes education campus up for grabs

20 Oct 11 Contractors are invited to bid for a £25m mixed-use scheme in Milton Keynes featuring education, healthcare, and retail.

Stantonbury Campus is a foundation school, and is one of the largest secondary schools in Europe with over 2,500 pupils.

It is planning to redevelop the existing campus, including demolition of some existing facilities, the construction of replacement facilities, plus a new Sainsbury's supermarket and health facilities.

This contract centres comprises the construction of replacement accommodation for Stantonbury Campus, minor demolition works, refurbishment, car parks and footpaths, and the landscaping of the grounds.

The school will remain operational throughout. The works will need to be completed to allow a decant from the existing school to the new facilities during summer 2014.

The client may ask for a "turnkey" solution, which includes the decant of school equipment form the former premises, the installation of ICT and other equipment and the provision of some ICT and furniture.

The form of contract is likely to be design and build.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 18 November.
