Aecom scoops $148m consultancy contract

22 Dec 11 Aecom has been awarded a US$148m (£94m) contract for Hong Kong’s Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link (TM-CLKL).

Its subsidiary Aecom Asia will carry out the design and construction of the link, which is one of the projects related to work for the 30km Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB).

The TM-CLKL contract includes detailed design as well as supervision and resident site staff responsibilities. Aecom will provide reference design and detailed design and contract administration during the construction of the TM-CLKL, which will provide the most direct route between Hong Kong’s Northwest New Territories, the Hong Kong boundary crossing facilities of the HZMB, Hong Kong International Airport and Lantau Island. The project works comprise a dual two-lane highway approximately 9.6km long, of which half is in the form of a sub-sea tunnel. Work is expected to be completed during 2017.

“This is the second design and construction consultancy that Aecom has won for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge related projects,” said Aecom chairman and chief executive officer John Dionisio. “We are honoured to partner with Hong Kong’s Highways Department to play a key role in its continuing development of Hong Kong’s transportation infrastructure.”
