Amec picked for 230-mile Florida railway

19 Sep 12 The developer of the USA’s only privately owned intercity railway has selected Amec Environment & Infrastructure to oversee design planning and environmental compliance and permitting.

All Aboard Florida – Operations (AAF) is developing the for the 230-mile privately owned, operated and maintained intercity passenger rail system that will connect South Florida to Orlando.

“Amec’s global track record of exemplary engineering feats in the transportation sector makes them a worthy partner in this project,” said Michael Reininger, executive vice president of AAF. “The firm will deliver on our philosophy to bring intercity passenger rail service to Florida without sacrificing or adversely impacting the critical environments and natural habitats that define our state’s landscape.”
