Apollo Education wins additional Hammersmith and Fulham school contract

6 Sep 11 Apollo Education has won a £1.3 million contract to extend and remodel Old Oak Primary School in Acton, London, for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The project, which will start in mid-September, is due to complete in Spring 2012 and will involve the construction of a new purpose built extension to house the early years department; the remodelling of the existing school to create more appropriate Reception class provision and associated external works.

Old Oak Primary School is a mixed-sex community primary school and nursery, and this project will provide the extra capacity needed to move it from a 1.5 to 2 form entry school.

Marcel Hendricks, Director of Apollo Education said:  “We are very pleased to be able to add Old Oak Primary School to the portfolio of works we are carrying out for Hammersmith and Fulham.  Together with our involvement in the creation of two of London’s new Free Schools in the borough, we are determined to ensure that all children are given the chance to excel in the learning environments which we are providing whatever the criteria or method of teaching adopted”.
