Bids called for £175m quay works

26 Sep 12 Able Humber Port, the developer of a Marine Energy Park in Immingham, has kicked off the bidding for a £175m contract to develop new port facilities to support offshore wind farm construction.

The privately-owned harbour company has published a contract notice looking for a contractor to design and build 1.3km of new quays to enable offshore construction vessels to dock and load up.

Initial expressions of interest must be submitted by 29 October and invitations to tender will be sent out on 29 November.

The new quays are part of the development of the Marine Energy Park, which aims to service the growing needs of the renewable energy sector.
