The company said that it learnt on 6 December in the press that a judicial investigation is currently under way into the conditions surrounding the award of the contract.
“Bouygues Construction wishes to state that, to the best of its knowledge, no offences were committed during the consultation process, which was carried out with theutmost rigour,” it said. “Bouygues Construction is surprised by the allegations in certain press articles, particularly as no inquiry or investigation has been initiated against it and no employee of Bouygues Construction has been summoned, interviewed or received a notice in relation to the above-mentioned judicial investigation.”
The contract was awarded in May.
