Broadway Malyan unveils concept for Polish mall

19 Oct 11 Broadway Malyan has revealed the concept design for a new shopping centre in the northern Polish city of Elblag.

Design work is now progressing on the high-profile regional ‘Siódemka’ shopping centre, following the recent acquisition of developer New Europe Property Holdings by private equity investment group Bridgehouse. Broadway Malyan is to deliver the detailed design for the centre, including interior design and branding.

The 224,458m2 site will have a gross leasable area of 67,000m2, served by 1,800 parking spaces. The fully-enclosed 40,000m2 shopping mall will include 110 retail outlets and a themed food court.

There will also be a 27,000m2 park, with 15 retail warehouse units, and a motorway service area with a fuel station and restaurants, to serve one of Poland’s busiest summer holiday routes.

Sustainability is a key factor in the design, with green spaces included in the centre, natural light maximised, and the inclusion of ground source heat pumps.
