Caddick Construction completes £1.8m warehouse and office complex for Squadron Medical

11 Jul 12 Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction has completed a £1.8m contract for Henry Boot Developments to construct a warehouse and offices for Squadron Medical at Markham Vale, near Chesterfield. It is also due to complete a £1 million contract to build a McDonalds restaurant next month on the same site.

The 3,556 sq ft restaurant and the 41,000 sq ft warehouse and office building form part of a 200 acre commercial development close to junction 29a of the M1.

The new facility for Squadron Medical will be the medical supplies company's national distribution centre and headquarters.  The company previously operated from three smaller units in Staveley and Chesterfield and took a short-term lease at Markham Vale's Waterloo Court scheme whilst their new premises were being built. The bespoke facility took Caddick just 30 weeks to build and features a full height glazed reception area and concrete floor slab built to a high degree of tolerance to accommodate high bay racking.

Caddick is putting the finishing touches to the McDonalds restaurant, which is due to open in August and will cater for the growing number of people employed within this fast growing business park.

Caddick Construction is part of the Caddick Group and operates in the majority of market sectors including food manufacturing, retail, extra care, residential, industrial/distribution, leisure, commercial, education and civils.
