Capital deals make it a good day for Bouygues

30 Oct 12 Bouygues has won a £35m office refurbishment project in the City of London and reached financial close on a major regeneration scheme in east London.

Bouygues UK has been selected to to redevelop and extend the building at 71 Queen Victoria Street, London EC4 to provide 200,000 sq ft. Work includes a new facade to Queen Victoria Street and a new eighth floor with a roof terrace overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral. Client is QV Unit Trust.

Bouygues has started on site and is expected to complete in December 2013.

Bouygues Development has reached financial close of the first phase of the Abbey Road Creative Industries Quarter scheme in Barking. The overall redevelopment will take place in two phases and will see the construction of four new blocks providing 272 flats and 1,500 sq m of space for creative and commercial uses on the ground floor.

Phase one comprises the construction of two of the new buildings, which will collectively provide 134 flats and 900 sq m of creative and commercial space.

Bouygues Development signed the development agreement with freeholders London Thames Gateway Development Corporation in June 2011 prior to selling the entire  first phase to London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, which will rent out the flats.

Construction of phase one is set to start by the end of 2012 with practical completion scheduled for quarter three of 2014.
