The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) runs across farmland to the north of Rossington, connecting junction 3 of the M18 motorway with the existing junction of the A638 Great North Road and B6463 Sheep Bridge Lane.
Raised on an embankment, it requires 700,000 m³ of fill material.
Initial estimate for the job was £30m but the bids came in at between £19m and £25m.
