Chief operating officer John Tonkiss leaves the company at the end of the year after 10 years, including four as COO.
Joining the board in the new year will be37-year-old Richard Simpson, who becomes managing director of the property division, and 35-year-old Richard Smith, as managing director of the operations division.
Mr Simpson has been development director for the past three years. Mr Smith joined Unite in 2010 as deputy chief financial officer.
Further headcount reductions are being made in central support functions. Exceptional costs for the reorganisation are expected to be approximately £1.5m.
