Clements switches to Kubota

31 Aug 11 Coventry-based Clements Plant & Tool Hire is switching to Kubota for its mini-excavator fleet.

The company has a couple of dozen mini excavators in its fleet, comprised of Yanmar and Bobcat models. But according to Kubota, Clements had issues with manufacturing faults, after-care service and price with its previous suppliers. Therefore it contacted local Kubota distributor BTE Plant Sales.

"Failures elsewhere in our supply chain opened the door, and BTE underlined its excellent reputation by helping us out," said Clements managing director Jim Longstaff, who has known BTE boss Ben Elliott for 25 years.

Clements has bought six Kubota machines - four 1.5-tonne KX36-3 models and two 2.5-tonne U25-3 machines.

"I've been telling Jim how good we were for years, and I'm delighted he’s given us the opportunity to prove it!" stated Ben Elliott. "We look forward to a long and successful partnership between BTE and Clements."
