Clugston gets clearance for third waste-to-energy plant

13 Dec 11 Clugston Construction and process engineer CNIM have been given permission to build a multimillion pound energy from waste (EfW) facility Oxfordshire.

It will be constructed for, and operated by, waste management company Virido, and will generate 24MW of electricity.

This is the third EfW facility secured by the Anglo-French Clugston/CNIM joint venture this year, following projects in Staffordshire and Lincolnshire earlier in the year.

Clugston Construction managing director Steve Radcliffe said: “We are delighted with the approval to commence site activities, which means we look forward to starting construction works on another exciting EfW project with our partner CNIM.”
