Coffey wins Queensland civils testing contract

2 Aug 11 Coffey International has secured a AU$3.2m (£2.2m) contract with Fulton Hogan McCosker (FHMJV) to provide construction materials testing services for the civil works at an LNG site in Queensland.

Coffey Information will provide on-site laboratory and field testing services, including construction materials conformance and quality control testing. An on-site testing laboratory, along with a workforce of up to 20 technical staff will be established on the Australia Pacific LNG project on Curtis Island.

"This win demonstrates our increasing reputation in Queensland for quality materials testing - more clients are choosing us because of our large geographic footprint, quality systems and ability to mobilise resources quickly and efficiently," said Coffey Information’s group executive Michael Renehan. "This demonstrates real value for our clients and is the result of significant investment to refine our processes and maximise efficiencies. For example, we recently launched our new lean-design laboratory which has achieved more than 30% improvement in turnaround times on some projects and look forward to applying this to the project."
