Construction boss praises riot clear-up response

10 Aug 11 Interserve chief executive Adrian Ringrose has praised his workforce for the way they have responded to city-centre rioting this week and helped customers back into business.

"It has been a fantastic team effort,” he said. "This is not about commercial contracts and who pays in the end. It is about getting our customers back up on their feet and running as soon as possible.”

Interserve provides support services to a host of high street names that have been victims of looters, as well as local authorities. Customers include Ladbrokes, William Hill, Boots, Sainsbury's, HSBC and Argos as well as local councils in riot-hit Croydon and Ealing.

Mr Ringrose said that Interserve had been providing extra security manpower where needed, repairing windows and boarding up premises.

Services that Interserve provides to local authorities include managing CCTV. The firm is now liaising with the police who are using footage to try to identify rioters and looters.
