Construction SMEs invited to meet north-east clients

25 Oct 12 Construction-related suppliers in the north east of England are being invited to a Constructionline event to meet potential clients and find out about upcoming opportunities.

The event is being held on Thursday 8 November at Durham County Cricket Club in Chester le Street. It is designed to give small and medium sized construction companies the opportunity to meet with key procurement decision makers from public and private organisations including Vinci Facilities, Lend Lease, Kier Services and Graham Construction.

Aaron Good, client relationship manager from Constructionline, said: “In our experience, many local businesses want to give work to local contractors and in turn, the contractors are eager to win these tenders. The problem is that it’s often hard for contractors and buyers to get face-to-face to discuss opportunities.

“Hosting events like this is at the heart of what Constructionline does - giving suppliers some valuable introductions and helping them to learn about upcoming work opportunities, while also making it easier for businesses to find reliable and local construction companies. The event is one of the many benefits for Constructionline member suppliers in helping them find and secure work.”

There will also be short presentations on the public sector procurement process, safety schemes in procurement, the Green Deal and equality and diversity in the construction sector.
