Contract let for Danish healthcare HQ

1 Sep 11 Contractor MT Højgaard has won a DKK700m (£83m) contract to build new headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark, for healthcare company Novo Nordisk.

The project has been designed by Henning Larsen Architects and emphasises energy efficiency.

Novo Nordisk wishes to bring together about 1,100 employees in new buildings in Bagsværd. The buildings will house a number of administrative and shared functions, which are presently scattered all over Greater Copenhagen. The project will provide a total floor area of over 50,000m2

“We are proud to have been chosen for this project, which will involve a wide range of our competencies,” said MT Højgaard chief operating officer Jens Nyhus.

Work will start in October 2011, and the new headquarters will be ready for use at the end of 2013.
