The new contract for the Momarken - Homstvedt stretch has a value of of NOK268m (£29m).
The total length of the stretch is 3.9km. The contract also includes a bridge, three flyovers and two culverts and a new water and sanitation facility for Eidsberg municipality. The contract comprises roughly half of the E18 Melleby - Momarken roadworks. The existing E18 will become part of the system of local roads, but will be linked to the new motorway.
The stretch is a part of the E18 Ørje-Vinterbro project through Østfold and Akershus counties. From the Swedish border to Momarken there will be a two-lane motorway with passing lanes, and from Momarken to Vinterbro there will be a four-lane motorway with a central reserve.
Work starts at the end of the year and is to be completed in October 2013.
