£1.7bn Dubai theme park approved

The leisure and entertainment complex in Jebel Ali will have five distinct areas with themes including movies and marine life. It will be the first of its kind in the region and is intended to be a major attraction for residents as well as visitors from around the world.

The first phase, Dubai Adventures Studios, was launched by developer Meraas Holding in December 2011. This will feature Hollywood brands. There will also be Bollywood Park, linked to Mumbai studios.
