She was until recently group finance director of John Laing plc, a role she had held (since 2007). Previous roles during her 12 years at Laing including that of group financial controller. She started her career at Deloitte in South Africa after qualifying as a chartered accountant.
Krige will replace Justin Read, who has resigned from the position of group finance director at Speedy with effect from 26 August.
Owing to a long-standing commitment she will begin her salaried role on 1 October, with Speedy's financial controller Ian Scapens assuming responsibility for all finance functions in the interim period.
