Ferrovial clinches trio of Polish projects

21 Sep 11 Ferrovial Agroman's Polish subsidiary Budimex has landed three new contracts worth close to €80m (£69.6m).

One of the contracts is for a sports stadium in Lublin and the others are for a shopping centre and office complex in Warsaw.

The Warsaw complex, totalling 55,000m2, will include a shopping and services area and will cost a total of €39m. Budimex will also build a shopping mall for Neinver Annopol, worth 14 million euro, which is scheduled to open late in 2012.

The contract with the city of Lublin involves the design and construction of a sports stadium and a number of ancillary facilities. The project, worth more than €25m, is scheduled for completion in September 2013.

In the first half of 2011, Budimex obtained €549m in construction revenues, a 48.3% increase with respect to last year in like-for-like terms. Its order book amounted to €1.99bn.Budimex is currently in the process of acquiring PNI, which specialises in railway infrastructure design, construction and maintenance.
