Steve joins Foremans after nearly 20 years with the Portakabin businesses, which form part of the Industrial Division of the Shepherd Group. He has worked as a Hire Centre Manager in Sheffield and Nottingham and for the past five years he was Regional Hire Manager with responsibility for five Portakabin hire centres in the Midlands.
In his new role, he will help drive the Foremans business in the South of England, which includes setting up a new operational base in Hemel Hempstead.
He will also assist in generating new business nationwide, with a particular focus on developing partnerships with main contractors involved in health, education and utilitiesprojects, including ProCure21 and BSF/PCP. This will include applications for Foremans’ recycled and refurbished modular buildings for contractors’ project and design offices, and school and ward buildings for high quality interim, decant and permanent uses.
Commenting on this key appointment, Kevin Jones, Managing Director of Foremans Relocatable Building Systems, said, “With its value and sustainability advantages, the recycling and refurbishment of pre-owned modular buildings has huge potential. We have ambitious plans to grow the business, particularly in expanding our work with the UK’s leading construction companies. The team we now have in place, together with the new centre at Hemel Hempstead, and our headquarters in Yorkshire, are central to that.”
The new 4-acre purpose-built regional centre at Hemel Hempstead is enabling Foremans to increase the availability of modular buildings from stock to customers in the South of England and to offer the highest levels of customer service.
Strategically located in the South of England and with excellent transport links, the southern regional centre has a recycled Foremans office building on the site which has been designed to give customers the opportunity to see the quality of pre-owned modular accommodation and a number of specification options at first hand.
