Forrest branches out into new markets

4 Aug 11 Forrest " the Preston headquartered social housing regeneration specialist " is continuing to expand its range of services with the launch of a new specialist retrofit and environmental division.

Forrest Green will offer a range of services to improve the environmental performance of buildings either through retrofit programmes or new build projects.

The move comes as Forrest looks to expand into new markets by targeting domestic, commercial and public sector property owners in addition to organisations within its traditional social housing client base.

Specialists from Forrest Green will design, implement and manage energy infrastructure for property owners by employing a range of technology including insulation, solar photovoltaic (solar PV), solar thermal, heat pumps and green roofing.

The business is hoping to help property owners and businesses who are looking to benefit from Government incentives such as the Feed in Tariff (FIT) which provides users of solar PV technology with payments for any electricity generated and exported back to the national grid.

A similar cash back scheme called Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) was launched in April 2011 which allows owners of solar thermal systems to claim from energy providers.

Lee McCarren, chief executive officer of Forrest, said: “There is an increasing desire in commercial and domestic property markets to become energy efficient due to Government incentives and rising energy prices and our expertise can help meet this demand.

“We have been leading the way by adopting green technology in our social housing construction projects for many years and we’re now ready to leverage this knowledge and experience into the commercial sector.

“The launch of Forrest Green combined with our geographic expansion and investment in our teams, service lines, infrastructure and expertise will help us to continue our rapid growth.”
