Greek lift company targets UK

20 Jun 12 Greek lift manufacturer Kleemann is targeting the UK market for growth.

Kleemann established a UK subsidiary in Oxford last and is now setting up a showroom and warehouse.

The company began lift production in Greece in 1986 based on a license agreement with Kleemann Hubtechnik of Germany. It floated on the Athens stock exchange in 1999 and soon expanded internationally, with subsidiary operations across eastern Europe and in Dubai and China and sales in 75 countries. It now builds more than 100,000 new systems every year and claims 2% of the world market.

In the UK Kleemann’s references include Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s new American Express stadium. Sales here grew 61% last year. It is now targeting the refurbishment market in particular.

Earlier this year Kleemann launched a ‘Lift Tester’ iPhone application, which allows users to address a lift’s functionality using just their mobile.
