Greenwich Peninsula detailed plans submitted to GLA

26 Nov 12 Developer Quintain Estates and its Hong Kong partner have submitted a detailed planning application for the first stage of their huge Greenwich Peninsula development scheme in east London.

Quintain and Knight Dragon, the private investment vehicle of Dr Henry Cheng Kar-Shun, have outline consent for 10,000 homes on a 150 acre site on the south side of the river Thames.

Knight Dragon came on board and took a 60% share of the project in June and has injected £300m financing to fund the roll-out of development.

The developers have now agreed an enhanced memorandum of understanding with the Greater London Authority for the delivery and composition of 11 initial residential plots that enable the joint venture to start on 2,870 of the planned homes. As a result of this agreement, it has also submitted detailed planning applications for the first three plots, comprising 506 homes, which will be considered by the GLA planning committee next February.
