Groundforce Shorflo opens new Yorkshire pumps depot

12 Oct 11 Shorflo, the pumps division of hire specialist Groundforce, has strengthened its geographical coverage by opening a new depot at Castleford, West Yorkshire.

With a fast-growing inventory of high-performance multi-purpose pumps, Shorflo is the exclusive UK hire operator of the Hidrostal range of super-silent diesel pumps.

The new depot, which boasts extensive workshop and storage facilities, is located close to the M62 motorway at Altofts Lane on the same site as supplier Hidrostal’s northern depot.

“This is a really convenient location, especially as we’re right next door to our main supplier. They’ve got an impressive set-up here,” comments Shorflo national sales manager Brett Wood.

Hidrostal pumps form the backbone of the Shorflo fleet, with the unique high-performance Hidrostal impeller at the heart of the Shorflo Super range. These pumps, which are available in 3”, 4”, 6” and 8” sizes, can handle clean or dirty water, including solids, sludge and viscous fluids.

Housed within super-silent acoustic enclosures, the Shorflo Super range is among the quietest pumps available. But their biggest advantage is the efficiency of the Hidrostal impeller which delivers fuel savings of up to 80% compared with similar pumps.

“Without a doubt, our pumps have the lowest fuel consumption on the market, and that’s a massive benefit to our customers,” comments Mr Wood. “Not only does it save a lot of money in fuel but it means lower carbon emissions and longer intervals between refuelling.”

The new depot, with its strategic location close to the motorway network, strengthens Shorflo’s coverage of the Yorkshire region and enhances the company’s levels of service throughout the UK.
