GWD Projects Ltd, GWD Building Services Ltd and GWD Engineering Services Ltd went into administration on 4 August and are now in the hands of insolvency specialists from the Manchester office of Ernst & Young.
GWD was formed in December 2008 from the merger of electrical installation contractor Gill & Wilkinson with Dunham Engineering Services, a specialist in the design and construction of mechanical building services.
Eighteen months after the merger, directors of the new company said that they were on course for 2012 turnover of £15m.
