The current premises of Alfreton Park Community Special School, built in 1960, are to be demolished.
A new building for the school will be constructed nearby, on a site adjacent to Alfreton Park, known as Highfield Plantation, providing better school facilities and increasing capacity from 84 to 105.
This is the fifth project that Henry Brothers Midlands has been appointed to deliver for Derbyshire County Council at a number of school sites across the county, and the second for Alfreton Park Community Special School.
Overall project costs is £13.2m.
