The launch will take place at the Infra Oman 2012 exhibition, which is being held from 2 to 4 October.

"This is a great opportunity to introduce the company’s range of services and level of construction expertise to a range of high-calibre visitors,” said Hewlett managing director Alan Cooper. “Oman is a developing country and the opportunities in the construction industry are booming. There are some serious plans in the pipeline and some major projects we will be looking to bid for. Our long-term goal is to become a valuable contributor to the development of Oman’s infrastructure.”

The expo will put the spotlight on Oman's five-year spending plan for the period to 2015. The new plan foresees US$78bn (£48bn) of expenditure, representing a 113% increase over the last period. Major infrastructure projects coming up include the Oman National Railway, development of Muscat's Port Sultan Qaboos as well as transport, medical waste management, tourism and residential schemes.
