Hightex wins third Brazilian stadium contract

11 Dec 12 Hightex and its Brazilian construction partner Sepa have won their third contract for a 2014 FIFA World Cup venue.

Hightex, which designs, fabricates and installs large, cable-supported, lightweight membrane roofs and façades worldwide, will work with Sepa to engineer and install the inner liner membrane structure of the roof of the The Arena das Dunas in Natal. The new stadium and will accommodate 45,000 spectators. Engineering work will start immediately and the construction is due to be completed by the end of 2013.

The contract at the Arena das Dunas is the third won by the Hightex and SEPA partnership for a stadium to be used in the 2014 tournament in Brazil.  It follows winning contracts for the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro and for the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre.

Hightex chief executive officer Frank Molter said:  "We look forward building on these recent successes and exploiting Hightex's core technical skills, its high quality German engineering know-how and significant track record both in Brazil and globally."
