The works include the construction of a dual two-lane trunk road, including a 4.8km vehicular tunnel linking the proposed Sha Tau Kok Road and Fanling Highway interchanges. The scheme also involves construction of an administration building and three ventilation buildings, together with tunnel electrical and mechanical works, plus associated works.
Hong Kong's Civil Engineering & Development Department has set at deadline of 25 January for the tender. Construction wiill start next May, for completion in November 2017. The department has commissioned Aecom Asia to design and supervise the works.
