Hyder to lead design of Hamburg crossing

The Hafenquerspange, or harbour link, project is a 2km stretch of the A26 which includes seven structures, a motorway interchange and a junction. The new route in the south of Hamburg will connect the A7 motorway in the west to the A1 in the east alongside the river Süderelbe. In addition, there is a planned extension to a multi-level interchange.

As the technical and commercial lead for the joint venture, Hyder will take responsibility for the design, detailed study and public relations of the A26 project. The contract includes the design of transport facilities, structural and civil engineering structures, studies regarding air and noise emission, a comparison of alternative structures for the crossing of a drainage area and calculations for the signalling.
