The firm proudly picked up the prestigious NFB Heritage Project of the Year Award for maintaining the traditional landmark whilst keeping its restorative skills alive within the industry. IB Construction had also scooped the Best Educational Project for the LABC Building Excellence Awards recently.
It’s clear to see that the established Wolverhampton based construction firm has evidently taken pride in their impressive transformation work at the Old Hall Project in Sandbach, Cheshire and Shrewsbury’s Meole Brace Primary School.
The admired Old Hall Grade 1 historic building is thought to date back from 1656 as the residence of the Lords of the Manor of Sandbach. After its professional twelve-month transformation by IB Construction, the building now stands as an attractive thriving pub and restaurant, putting the area back on the map for its scenic splendour.
Tim Lewis, Contracts Manager commented about the award win: “We are proud to receive these awards, as they reflect the hard work and commitment shown by all staff on our projects. Having completed a large range of refurbishment projects over the years, we have a vast amount of experience to draw upon when faced with interesting projects such as Old Hall and Meole Brace. To add to its significance, in a bid to preserve the extraordinary building, the local neighbourhood had formed a Save the Old Hall Action Group (SOSAG) to restore the landmark back to its former glory. The restoration potential the project carried reflects the local residents’ desire to preserve such admired sites. In light of Meole Brace Primary School, Shropshire Council has already expressed their gratitude towards IB Construction’s skilful workmanship towards meeting the school’s requirements.
