The IMS provides a focus for all involved in the manufacture of masonry materials and the design and construction of masonry structures.
“Masonry was established as an important building material hundreds of years ago and still has a vital role to play in modern construction projects,” said Mr Rogatzki, a chartered structural engineer with 30 years’ experience in construction.
“Life cycle assessment shows that it is a genuine sustainable solution with bricks having a product life in excess of 60 years and naturally high thermal mass, reducing energy use in the home. I am keen to promote these benefits and increase interest in masonry solutions with architects and specifiers.”
