Interserve wins £10m M&E contract on Runcorn waste plant

17 Aug 11 Interserve has won a £10m contract to provide mechanical and process engineering services to install major equipment items at an energy-from-waste plants under construction in Runcorn.

Working for engineering, procurement and construction contractor Keppel Seghers, Interserve will deliver access and mechanical services during phase one of this two-phase project. Project client is Viridor.

Interserve’s equipment service division, RMD Kwikform, is also providing access and scaffolding services along with formwork and falsework  for the project under a contract worth up to £4m.

The energy-from-waste plant will include a combined heat and power plant capable of processing 420,000t a year of solid recovered fuel derived from household waste. At full capacity it will be able to supply 270,000 MWh of electricity and 500,000t of steam per year.
