ISG juggles Cheshire primary schools

20 Jun 12 ISG is working simultaneously on several primary school construction and refurbishment projects across Cheshire and Manchester through the North West Construction Hub Framework.

Total value of the schemes is £6.5m.

A number of these projects for Cheshire West and Chester Council focus on upgrading classrooms. ISG is replacing prefabricated temporary accommodation with new permanent structures at schools including JH Godwin Primary School, Greenbank Primary School and Lostock Gralam Primary School. The projects also include internal refurbishment works and external improvements to resurface car park and playground areas.

Projects at Byley Primary School and Aston by Sutton Primary School see ISG construct extensions to provide a new multi-use hall and a refurbishment of kitchen facilities.

The majority of the schemes are due for completion during the summer holiday period, ahead of the start of the new school year.

Jim Parker managing director of ISG North West, said: “The North West Construction Hub Framework has successfully simplified the procurement process for public sector construction projects in the region, delivering cost savings and ensuring consistently high standards of project delivery. The number of school extension and refurbishment schemes that ISG is carrying out for Cheshire West and Chester Council requires careful planning and logistical expertise, so our extensive experience of working within live school environments has been essential in ensuring continued successful outcomes.”
