Cat dealer Finning took several older machines of other makes in part exchange and sees the deal as a major shift to Cat equipment for Kaill.

Kaill Plant Hire, a family run business started in 1973 by Tudor Thomas, has some 200 machines in its fleet.

Plant manager Bob Cummins said: “As a business, we have traditionally purchased this type of equipment from other manufacturers. However it is credit to Finning that even with this history, they have continued to make new equipment available to us to test and benchmark against our current fleet.

“In plant hire we are dealing with an extremely competitive environment, so making sure our equipment is capable of withstanding the harsh conditions and the operator techniques of numerous customers are what make us stand out from the rest.”

The Cat 320EL excavator is the first 21 tonne class excavator in the UK that meets Stage IIIB emission standards.
