Kawneer adds a tilturn to its cost-effective window range

16 Sep 11 Kawneer has enhanced its AA®540 window range, which combines value for money with a BRE Green Guide “A” rated frame*, with a tilturn variant.

The AA®543 tilturn window joins an AA®541 casement and AA®542 pivot window in suiteing with Kawneer’s AA®100 and AA®110 curtain walling, 451PT framing and door systems to give specifiers and architects ultimate flexibility.

The tilturn uses a multi-chamber thermal break core, ensuring thermal efficiency (U values down to 1.5W/m²K) and full compliance with Document L, while optional trickle ventilation also helps meet the requirements of Document F.

And in line with the range philosophy of complementing the increasing demand for environmentally-friendly window systems with aesthetic but highly secure building products, the AA®543 is independently tested to BS 7950:1997 – Amendments 1, 2 and 3.

Like its sister products, the AA®543 tilturn (tilt for ventilation and turn for cleaning) is suitable for new-build and refurbishment projects in the education, healthcare, commercial, retail and residential sectors where cost is a key driver. The full opening in the turn position offers an escape route in an emergency (subject to size).

A pressure equalised system gives the AA®540 excellent weather performance independently tested to BS 6375-1: 2009, ensuring the system is suitable for low and high-rise application.  The AA®540 is also compliant with Operation and Strength Test BS 6375 Pt2.
