Lend Lease to build Melbourne police complex

27 Nov 12 Lend Lease subsidiary Baulderstone has been awarded a circa AU$140m (£91m) contract by Cbus Property to build the new City West police complex in Melbourne, Australia.

This contract will involve the design and construction of nine floors of contemporary office space for Victoria Police’s major criminal investigation teams, a purpose-built police station as well as parking facilities for 300 vehicles.

Lend Lease group chief executive officer and managing director Steve McCann said that the contract strengthens the group’s construction portfolio in Victoria. “Lend Lease has a proven track record in delivering complex commercial buildings,” he said. “We are very pleased to be working with Cbus Property and the Victorian Government to deliver these new facilities for the State police service.” 

Demolition of the existing buildings is currently under way and project completion is scheduled for March 2015.
