Lovell and Kier share £35m home improvements deal

8 Aug 12 Lovell and Kier have been selected to deliver £35m-worth of home improvements to nearly 4,500 council properties in Leicestershire.

The contract award follows North West Leicestershire District Council’s (NWLDC) successful bid to obtain Homes & Communities Agency ‘Decent Homes’ backlog funding.

The five-year partnering scheme is the largest housing improvement contract the council has awarded to date. The contract is expected to start in October this year and is worth £17.5m to each contractor.

Lovell and Kier will jointly carry out extensive home repair and replacement works ranging from kitchen, bathroom, boiler and central heating system upgrades, to installing new doors, windows and electrical re-wiring, as part of the council’s investment in bringing the homes up to the Decent Homes standard.

“North West Leicestershire District Council has a very positive and committed approach to improving the quality of people’s homes up to and beyond Decent Homes Standard and we’re delighted to be one of the Council’s chosen partners,” said Lovell regional director Noel Adams.
