Mansell lands £1.2 million housing contract in Liverpool

22 Dec 11 Mansell has been awarded a £1.2 million housing contract in Toxteth, Liverpool, for neighbourhood investor Plus Dane Group.

The contract comprises demolition of existing retail units and maisonettes on Granby Street to make way for the design and build of 12 new timber framed houses, 10 of the properties will have three bedrooms, the remaining two will have five bedrooms.  The homes will be built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.

Mansell is currently on site with two other projects for Plus Dane Group, both in Liverpool. Northumberland Street involves the design and build of 16 new homes opposite Coleman’s Depository, a prominent landmark in the area. Hatherley Street will see the construction of 10 new homes which will be available for rent for local people, due for completed by February 2012.    

Two of Mansell’s apprentices, a joiner and a bricklayer, will be deployed in delivering these projects.

Regional Managing Director, Stuart Belfield said, “We are delighted to have secured this project and look forward to further enhancing our long-standing relationship with Plus Dane Group, providing much needed affordable homes for local people in Liverpool.”

Work has recently started on site and will complete in August 2012.
