Miller recruits another BAM man

14 Dec 12 David Leishman, formerly of BAM, has joined Miller Construction as commercial director for the company’s Scottish operations.

The chartered quantity surveyor joins from Forth Electrical Facilities Management where he was commercial director for the southern region, but prreviously spent 30 years with BAM Construction in senior management positions.

His appointment follows that of Charlie Dunn, another BAM veteran, as managing director last month. Mr Dunn was recruited to replace Brian McQuade, who was poached by Kier.

Miller Construction chief executive Chris Webster said: “David has an excellent reputation in the Scottish construction industry and has the experience and capabilities to lead the commercial team.  As we continue to focus our efforts on programmes of work and frameworks, I am confident David will be an integral part of the team, as we drive our strategy to take projects from inception, through to construction and beyond.”  

Mr Leishman himself said: “Miller is a well respected business in the Scottish marketplace, with a proven track record in delivering quality projects in accordance with client expectations. This is an exciting time to join the company, as we plan and build for the future, and I am very much looking forward to working with the team.”
